Polk County picked up a key road win Thursday in its quest to repeat as Western Highlands Conference girls tennis champions, downing Owen 9-0 in Swannanoa.

The Wolverines (7-4, 3-0) earned their second 9-0 win in the past week and completed a sweep of WHC opponents in the first pass through the conference schedule.

“Great win for us today,” said Polk head coach Richard Davis. “At this point, we just have to maintain our focus and intensity, and win against the conference teams one more time. Hopefully, we will round in to playoff form in the next couple of weeks.
