Polk County Friends of Agriculture Breakfast returns Wednesday

The Polk County Friends of Agriculture Breakfast will return for the season next week, giving attendees a chance to learn more about ag over a warm, locally sourced breakfast.

The first gathering will be next Wednesday at the Green Creek Community Center, located at 25 Shields Drive, Tryon. The breakfast will begin at 7 a.m. and will end at 8 a.m.

The speaker for the month of September will be Kelly Gay, district administrator of Soil and Water District for Polk County. She will discuss the topic, “What does your local Soil and Water District do for you?”

In order to create less waste, organizers are encouraging visitors to bring their own coffee mug. At each breakfast, there will be a “Mug with the most Character” contest, with prizes announced the day of.
