The injury bug continues to affect Polk County this season.

Junior fullback / linebacker Bryson Seay will miss several weeks of action after suffering broken bones in his foot during last week’s 13-12 loss at R-S Central.

He is the second Polk County running back to be injured this season, with senior Elijah Sutton already sidelined for the year with a knee injury.

Seay was injured at the end of a 30-yard run on the final play of the first quarter. As an R-S Central defender tackled Seay, he landed knee-first on Seay’s foot, causing the injury.

Through three games, Seay rushed for 183 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries, and had 31 tackles, with five of those for loss.

“There’s an outside opportunity that, before the end of the year, Bryson can be back,” said Polk County head coach Bruce Ollis. “He’s a good football player. But we can’t bemoan the fact that he’s not here.”
