4-H to offer several different clubs this fall

Back-to-school season gets children’s brains in learning mode, so 4-H will definitely be taking advantage of that boost of intellectual energy this month.
The organization is kicking off several new clubs that youth can sign up for. All clubs will meet once a month at the extension office, at 79 Carmel Lane, Columbus.
Scholarship money is available for clubs with fees.
4-H Cloverbud Discovery Club
This club for children 5 to 8 years old will explore many different project areas that promote children’s healthy development: mentally, physically, socially and emotionally.
The club meets from 3:30 to 5 p.m. the second Tuesday of the month, September through December.
4-H Sewing Club
Children 9 years and older will work on a new sewing project each month. The club meets from 3:30 to 5 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month, September through December.
4-H Cooking Club
Children can learn to cook seasonal items in this club aimed at children 9 years and older. Meetings are from 3:30 to 5 p.m. the fourth Monday of each month, September through December.
4-H Woodworking Club
Children can learn how to utilize different woodworking tools to make projects. This club for children 9 years and older, and will meet from 3:30 to 5 p.m. the third Wednesday of the month, September through December.
Kids Coding Club
Children can build critical thinking skills using technology by learning basic coding; students will start with block-based coding and move into Python and HTML. This club will run October to December, and will meet from 3:30-5 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month.
