Some of the town’s musicians and vocalists have chosen their favorite, show-stopping tunes to wrap up Over the Top, a week of art experiences Sept. 4-8 at Tryon Fine Arts Centers.

Andy Millard hosts an evening of top local talent, including Dr. Warren Carson, Chris Tinkler, Mark Morales, Wade Morgan, Deborah Fields, Diane Nelson, Elijah Sutton, Dean Trakas and the Cigarrette Holders singing tunes from the Great American Songbook and Broadway, with plenty of surprises thrown in.

Doors open at 6:30pm for a complementary reception for ticket holders and campaign supporters.

Over the Top kicks off on Tuesday with Blue Ridge String Quartet and Kymric Mahnke.

Over the Top will continue on Wednesday with a morning “Great Courses” art lecture and a 7:30 p.m. performance from local church choirs. Thursday will feature a reception and art show from White Oak residents and an evening performance in the amphitheater.

On Friday, there will be a “Great Courses” music discussion and evening performance from the Jim Peterman Band. The week will wrap up on Saturday with local music students taking the stage in the morning and Tryon’s stars performing Showtunes and Standards Saturday evening.
