Athletic programs at Polk County Middle School are about to receive a boost.

Parents and school supporters have formed the Polk County Middle School Booster Club as a means to support athletics at the school.

The Booster Club is being designed to allow each team at PCMS a means to raise money for needs such as equipment and jerseys, according to Renae Waldman, who is overseeing the launch of the club.

“We are very excited to get this organization up and running as a way for families and students to support PCMS athletics,” Waldman said. “Through memberships and fundraising, all athletes and coaches will be supported, and through concession sales, each participating team will have the opportunity for more funding to go towards equipment, uniforms, spirit wear and so on.

“Hopefully this organization is the start of taking our athletic program to the next level and helping all our athletes prepare for high school.”

Each supporter who joins the club is asked to consider a “registration donation,” though technically there is no fee for joining. That donation will also enter a student-athlete in a drawing for a free athletic camp in the summer of 2019.
