Marie Williams Gilbert, 76, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018, at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Landrum, South Carolina.

Marie was a blessing to everyone who knew her, and will be remember as a kind and loving mother and grandmother, as well as a loyal and devoted friend. 

She is survived by her daughters, Angel Hyder and husband Scott, and Becky Collins and her husband Terry; grandchildren, Michelle and Taylor Mills, Dwight and Emily Ward, and Abigail Hyder; great-grandchildren, Natalie, Grace, Kyler, Kalie and Cassidy; one great-great-grandchild, Nevaeh; sisters, Nora Stevens, Joyce Ammons and husband Bob, Pam Brock and husband Fred, Debbie Pruitt and husband John, Susie Allan and husband Daniel, and Arlene Williams; brothers, Tedd Williams and wife Lett, Floyd Williams and wife Donna, Chester Williams and wife Cindy; brother-in-law, Marvin Stevens; and sister-in-law, Ava Williams.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hilery Lee Williams and Naomi Ruth Miller Williams; her husband, A.C. Gilbert; daughter, Kathy Ann Ward; sisters, Lilian Shook and husband Frank, Laura Mooring and husband Henry, and Alice Stevens; and brother, Buster Williams.

A celebration of Marie’s life will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Polk County, with the Rev. Warren Elliott and the Rev. Bob Ammons officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
