GREEN CREEK — Green Creek Fire and Rescue was called out just south of Gilbert Road on Highway 14 Tuesday. A power line had fallen into a tree and was smoking.
Firefighter Tyler Schlabach said they got the call at 9:32 a.m. apparently a passing driver had noticed smoke coming from the cedar tree on the side of Highway 14.
“You can see a puff of smoke coming out every now and then,” Schlabach said.
Green Creek Fire and Rescue stationed a fire truck and emergency vehicles at the scene and directed traffic until Rutherford Electric could arrive and secure the power line.
