Annual United Methodist Peach Festival to take place Aug. 3

The Peach Festival at Columbus United Methodist Church will take place from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3.

The event will feature a big variety of homemade peach desserts served with ice cream, which will follow a barbecue dinner prepared by Columbus’ Harry Denton.

The Columbus/Tryon United Methodist Women will contribute 100 percent of the profits from the Peach Festival to nine area missions: Thermal Belt Outreach, The Salvation Army, Camp Tekoa, The Crossnore School, Red Bird Missions, Polk Vocational Services, Steps to Hope, Hospice of the Carolina Foothills and Katie’s Kids.

The church is located across from Stearns Gym, at 76 N. Peak St., Columbus, and tickets may be purchased from any Columbus UMC church member or at the door.
