Book Shelf to host signing Aug. 11

Carroll Bledsoe, originally from Greenwood, South Carolina, but now of Columbus has written a book entitled “An Insiders History of the Swingin’ Medallions.”

Bledsoe was an original member of the Swingin’ Medallions, one of the most popular beach groups in the southeast and reached national success in 1966 with their hit record, “Double Shot of my Baby’s Love.”

The band still performs several times each year.

The book covers memories from the early days and continues up to the present with numerous photographs, stories and memories.

The Book Shelf in Tryon North Carolina will host a book signing beginning at 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 11, and invites everyone to relive old memories with the author and band member himself.
