Juanita Foster Whiteside, 85, of Columbus, North Carolina, passed away Thursday evening, June 28, 2018, at her home.

Born in Polk County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Baine Foster and Revilee Dill Foster.

Mrs. Whiteside worked as a nurse for many years. After retirement, she enjoyed reading, her close friends and, most importantly, her family.

She was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving is her husband of 66 years, Clarence “Junior” Whiteside; one daughter, Pam Wing of Columbus; two grandchildren, Leigh Alyson Fullenwinder (Justin) and Jon Wing; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, John Foster (Geneva), Nick Foster (Abby) and Robert Foster (Frances); three sisters, Margaret Newman, Betty Davis and Jean Randall.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 30, 2018, in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery, Saluda, North Carolina, with the Rev. Warren Elliott officiating.
