Singing for the Soldiers event to take place Memorial Day

Published 8:00 am Thursday, May 24, 2018

The 10th annual Memorial Day Singing for the Soldiers fundraiser will be held at 6 p.m. Monday at the Columbus Veterans Park downtown.

The annual event helps raise money to send care packages to troops overseas through food sales and donations. Smoked barbecue plates, hot dogs and grilled corn will be sold at the event, and a patriotic ceremony will be held in honor of Polk military personnel who gave their lives for their country.

A music concert featuring The Brazells, Colt Creek Bluegrass, Brian Birchfeild and Turning Point will be featured as well.
