On May 7, knocking was heard at our front door. 

Our visitor was a fireman coming to alert us to the brush fire burning next to our property.  When something you hold dear is at stake, you realize how important it is to have people who are willing to help.   

Simply put, we are grateful for the fire companies of Tryon, Landrum and Campobello, and to the South Carolina Forestry folks who quickly worked together to get the fire under control.  These are wonderful folks who give much of themselves to help their neighbor. It is not easy work.
