Lincoln Charter tops Polk in state 1A boys tennis tourney

Lincoln Charter brought one of the most successful seasons in Polk County’s boys tennis history to an end Tuesday, handing the Wolverines a 6-3 loss in the second round of the state 1A tennis tournament. The Wolverines end their season with a 13-4 record. Lincoln Charter improves to 14-1 and advances to a 1A regional semifinal matchup on Monday at Bishop McGuinness. Polk County’s Ryan Heider and Henry Heider each won their singles matches Tuesday, with Henry Heider rallying from a first-set loss to win the second set and tiebreaker, but the Eagles swept the remaining four matches, then won at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to seal the win.
