Loraine Tolar Page, 99, of Columbus, North Carolina, passed away Thursday afternoon, April 12, 2018.

She was born April 1, 1919, in Jonesboro, Lousiana, to P.D. and Lora Mae Stewart Tolar.

She served in the Women’s Air Corp during World War II, and served as the veteran’s service officer for Polk County until her retirement.

She was predeceased by her husband, Britton R. Page; son-in-law, Robert W. Lawrence; two sisters; and two brothers.

Survivors include a daughter, Carol P. Lawrence of Tryon, North Carolina; two grandsons, Justin Lawrence (Karen) of Tryon, and Britt Lawrence of Gainesville, Virginia; six great-grandchildren, Cora, Caroline and Claire Lawrence of Tryon, Skyler Lawrence of Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, Jameson and Isabelle Lawrence of Gainesville, Virginia; one brother, Dr. W.B. Tolar (Floy) of Fort Worth, Texas.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 to 10:45 a.m. April 28, 2018.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 28, 2018, in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, with Dr. Don McIntyre officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Polk County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.

Burial will be private in Green Creek First Baptist Church Cemetery.
