Seventh-day Adventist Church to host musical performance April 28

On Saturday, April 28, the 11 a.m. service at the Tryon Seventh-day Adventist Church will feature a selection from Handel’s Messiah, The “Trumpet Shall Sound” for special music.
The bass soloist, Richard Cagle, majored in voice at Appalachian State University and received a master’s degree at Northern Arizona University. He has taught music for 22 years, and has sung solos at major sporting events, churches, recording studios, and on television.
Currently, he teaches music at North Henderson High School in Hendersonville.
Accompanying Cagle will be the following musicians:
• Chris Imhoff currently serves as the trumpet instructor at the South Carolina School of the Arts at Anderson and Newberry College. He holds degrees in trumpet performance from Ohio University and Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. Chris lives in Greenville, South Carolina with his wife, Lauren.
• Cheryl Hagymassy is a pianist and violinist teaching and performing around the area. She studied at Crane School of Music in Upstate New York and has lived in Hendersonville for 16 years.
• Christopher Viar, a sophomore at AB Tech in Asheville has been playing the violin for 14 years, including his study with Jessica Stewart for the first six. He teaches violin, works at Tryon International Equestrian Center, and volunteers at Charlie’s Angels Animal Rescue in Fletcher.
• Noah Collins, a junior at Fletcher Academy, has been playing violin for 13 years and is currently studying with Deborah Anthony in Fletcher.
• Nicholas Viar has been playing cello for 12 years, starting with Jessica Stewart for six and currently studying with Franklin Keel. He is a senior at Fletcher Academy and is planning to attend Southern Adventist University in the fall to study pre-med.
• Tristin Montgomery plays in the Carolina Youth Symphony and has studied cello for six years with Kathy Foster. She is a senior at Polk County High School and loves art.
Tryon Seventh-day Adventist Church is located at 2820 Lynn Rd. in Tryon.
