Polk JVs top Owen in WHC girls soccer clash at home Wednesday
Polk County roared back Wednesday from an early 1-0 deficit to hand Owen a 3-1 setback in a Western Highlands Conference girls soccer match in G.M. Tennant Stadium.
The Wolverines (3-7) evened the match at 1-1, when Katelynn Carambot assisted Hanna Henderson on the tying goal. Polk grabbed a 2-1 lead in the 48th minute on a goal by Caelan Gaul, then wrapped up the scoring as Alana Ballew converted a penalty kick in the 61st minute.
Marilyn Castillo had six saves for Polk County.
