Brodie was driving a 1993 Pontiac. He was heading west on U.S. 176 at Bird Mountain Hill, when his car went left off the road, down the embankment and struck a tree, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The case is being investigated by the Greenville County Coroner’s Office and highway patrol.

The highway patrol said Brodie was not wearing a seat belt. Brodie was not ejected from the vehicle or entrapped in the vehicle.

An autopsy on Brodie was scheduled to be done over the weekend.
