Polk County Middle School’s girls track team placed fifth and its boys eighth in a Blue Ridge Conference meet held Tuesday at Flat Rock Middle School.

Olivia Overholt’s win in the 800 meters and the 4×400-meter relay team’s win helped lead the Polk girls, which also got a fourth-place effort from Autumn Shumate in the discus and the 4×200-meter relay team.

Nalani Wilder placed fifth in the 100-meter dash, and Amya Cunningham took fifth in the 100-meter hurdles.

For the Wolverine boys, Dakota Twitty took second in the triple jump, and Braxton Edwards had a third place in the 400 meters and a fifth place in the long jump. Harrison Waddell added a third place in the discus.

Both Wolverine teams are scheduled to be at home on Tuesday, as Polk Middle hosts a Blue Ridge Conference meet in G.M. Tennant Stadium.
