TDDA: Think red when planting spring flowers
Published 8:00 am Thursday, March 22, 2018
The Tryon Downtown Development Association is asking local gardeners to “Think Red” when planting your spring flowers for your homes, flowerbeds and more.
TDDA will host a planting day on Friday, May 4, and deliver flower planters to stores participating in Tryon Blooms, a project to increase flowers and planters downtown. This is meant to enhance the newly finished streetscape and sidewalks, as well as beautify the town for the spring and summer.
The Town of Tryon, Tryon Garden Club, Green Blades Garden Club, Daffy Jill’s Garden Club and Polk County High School FFA will be arranging and delivering outdoor planters to downtown businesses in Tryon on May 4. This project was funded by local businesses, the Polk County Appearance Commission and the Rotary Club of Tryon Foundation.
