Doris Ann Jackson Hooper, 78, of Mill Spring, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018, at her residence.

She is predeceased by her husband, Leonard Eugene (Gene) Hooper; son, Randy Waters; and brother, Donald Griffin. 

Left to cherish her memories are her children, Larry Waters and wife Renea, Bobby Waters, and Delinda Anderson; grandchildren, Chris Waters and wife Nikki, Tonya Pence and husband Marty, Tiffany Grant and husband Curtis, Jamie Grainger, and Brandon Anderson; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Barbara Revels and late husband Earl, Dorothy Reid and husband Albert, Pat Pittman and husband James, James Griffin and wife Ann, Rick Giles and wife Kim; and sister-in-law, Shirley Griffin.

Doris was a faithful member of Grassy Knob Baptist Church for many years. She worked as a waitress most of her life.

Doris enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening. She will be remembered for being thoughtful, helpful, laughing and always having a kind word. She will forever be remembered and missed by all that loved her.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Grassy Knob Baptist Church, Grassy Knob Road, Rutherfordton, 28139.

Services are entrusted to Robert Morgan Funeral and Cremation Service, LLC of Boiling Springs, North Carolina.
