Thursday at 1:30 p.m., Tryon’s Green Blades Garden Club will host brothers Tim and Matt Nichols, world-renowned Japanese maple tree breeding experts from East Flat Rock’s Mr. Maple Nursery for a presentation on varieties, history and breeding of Japanese maple trees, treasured by gardeners for their elegant shapes, colors and intricate bark and leaf variations.

Natives of Hendersonville, the Nichols brothers have developed Mr. Maple into one of the largest specialty maple operations in the U.S.

The program will include questions and answers for those in attendance, and will be at Red Fox Country Club in Tryon. The event is free to the public.
