The WCCR Old Time Radio Club meets at 3 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 19, at the Isothermal College Campus in Columbus.

The program will feature two lights out programs containing its so-called “ultimate  horror.”

First, will be a 1938 radio broadcast celebrating the program’s fourth year on the air. This program, without a title, featured Boris Karloff in the leading role.

Second will be an early 1950 television presentation of Lights Out entitled “The Man with the Watch.”

To contrast these two macabre tales, there will be comedy excerpts featuring Abbott and Costello, Jimmy Durante and Fibber McGee. In addition there will be an entertaining trivia quiz to test memories about old time radio.

A typical meeting format is as follows:

• An old time radio program – usually a half hour comedy, drama or detective program.

• A trivia quiz dealing with the early days of radio broadcasting.

• An early half-hour TV program featuring a radio personality or program that made the transition to television.

• Announcements
