Bread, spirits rise at the NC Cooperative Extension Office Meeting Place

Nearly 20 homeschoolers gave their full attention to Jimmi Buell, the family and health sciences specialist at the NC Cooperative Extension Office, as she educated them on the science of baking, and coached them through the steps to making a loaf of bread in a bag. The program, which was sponsored by Changing Lives Moms Group, offered participants the opportunity to make two types of bread, traditional yeast bread and a banana nut bread. While the loaves were rising and baking, the kids took a break and visited The Meeting Place. Welcomed by Director Pam Doty, kids sang for seniors before lunch. (Submitted by Desiree Magnant)
