GREEN RIVER-Green River Cove Road in Polk County was reopened after a section was washed out Sunday, Feb. 11 after a culvert pipe gave out.

Traffic was being stopped in both directions for much of Sunday while crews worked to repair the road.

The road was reopened later Sunday with the pavement still not complete early Monday morning.

The N.C. Department of Transportation was assisting with repairs.

The culvert is located between the bridge where the Green River crosses and Fish Top.
