Landrum Area Business Association welcomes new members

LANDRUM – The Landrum Area Business Association’s new board is hosting a meet and greet before Tuesday’s meeting. Everyone is invited to come early, enjoy coffee and biscuits and talk with the new board members about new ideas for 2018.

This year the LABA plans to focus on increasing membership and membership participation starting with Tuesday’s meeting. The agenda includes time set aside for small group discussions of how to help promote Landrum area businesses and ways to improve LABA participation.

“As a long-time business owner downtown, I am committed as LABA president to supporting our wonderful Landrum shops, restaurants and businesses,” said LABA’s new President, Dianna Winkler. “ We know Landrum is a special place so we want many more people to discover its charm and to come back often.”

Winkler said that even if they cannot regularly attend the meetings, LABA members support the association’s efforts to promote the town and the area businesses. The LABA puts on many events throughout the year, such as the car show, the scarecrow contest, the Halloween and Christmas strolls and the Christmas parade. The association is also planning some after hours networking socials for those who cannot make the morning meetings.

Tuesday’s meeting begins at 8:30 a.m. at Landrum City Hall. All are invited to come early for coffee and biscuits. Regular monthly meetings are held the first Tuesday of every month at 8:30 a.m. in the Landrum City Hall. For more information contact: LABA President Diana Winkler at 864-641-5715.
