Scott Welborn, our own Polk County Extension Director, will be the guest speaker at the Foothills Association of Master Gardeners’ Lecture Series on Feb. 5 at 1:30 p.m.  The presentation will be at the Extension Office at 79 Carmel Lane in Columbus (behind the Senior Center on Skyuka Road).  It’s open to the public, free of charge, and no reservation is required.

Scott will tell you about the characteristics of soil in our area and how to prepare your soil for a productive garden.  If anyone can make the topic of soil interesting, Scott can!  You can also pick up a soil testing kit while you’re at the Extension Office.  Please invite your friends and neighbors to attend this informative presentation.
