Columbus Fire Department report

During the month of December 2017, the Columbus Fire Department answered 111 calls for service.

In the Town of Columbus, the department answered 45 calls, including one mobile property (vehicle) fire, one passenger vehicle fire, one excessive heat, scorch burns with no ignition, 19 medical assists, two emergency medical service, one EMS call, excluding vehicle accident with injury, two motor vehicle accidents with injuries, two motor vehicle accidents with no injuries, one gas leak, two aircraft standby, two public service assistance, one assist police or other governmental agency, one public service, six dispatched and cancelled en route, one no incident found, one smoke scare and one system malfunction.

In the Columbus Township, the fire department answered 57 calls, including one excessive heat, 30 medical assists, one emergency medical service, five EMS call excluding vehicle accident with injury, one motor vehicle accident with injuries, three motor vehicle accidents with no injuries, one hazardous condition, one service call, four assist police or other governmental agency, two public service, four dispatched and cancelled en route, two smoke scare, one system malfunction and one smoke detector activation.

In Mill Spring, Columbus responded to six calls, including two chimney or flue fire, one special outside, one medical assist, one EMS call and one dispatched and cancelled.

In Saluda, Columbus responded to one call for a cooking fire.

In Tryon, Columbus responded to two calls, one was dispatched and cancelled en route and one was special type of incident.
