SALUDA – McCreery Park in Saluda will soon see upgrades.

Thanks to many donations for the McCreery Park Master Plan, the city will soon begin the first steps of renovations to the park.

According to the city, construction documents are in progress, a new swing set has already been ordered and coordination with the N.C. Department of Transportation (DOT) is in progress.

The city and Saluda Parks Committee have been working on the park’s master plan and donations to create a new park for years. City officials said this week that the early steps in the process are not always seen by the public.

The city parks committee is working on submitting a grant. The city has also had a donor come forward willing to match all donations to McCreery Park up to $25,000.

City officials said there is no better time to give than now because every dollar will now be doubled thanks to the donor.
