Soil and water conservation program rescheduled

The Tryon Garden Club meeting scheduled for Jan. 17 has been rescheduled to Wednesday, Jan. 24 at 2 p.m. at FENCE. Kelly Gay, our Polk County Soil and Water District Administrator, will speak about ways to protect our soil and water and how to foster management of soil, water and related natural resources in Polk County.
From her office in the Mill Spring Agricultural Center, Gay works throughout the county with farmers, land owners, property managers, homeowners and individuals to develop voluntary methods of preserving our county’s resources. In this role she partners with the US Department of Agriculture Natural Resource Conservation Service, and the NC Soil and Water Conservation Commission.
