Passenger ejected in one Mill Spring wreck Thursday

Reports of two wrecks near Wolverine Trail on same night

MILL SPRING-Reports were made Thursday evening, Jan. 4 that two separate car vehicle crashes occurred along Hwy. 108 near Wolverine Trail.

The N.C. Highway Patrol said there was only one initial report Friday morning regarding one of the wrecks that involved one person being ejected from a vehicle and as of 10 p.m. Thursday that person was listed in critical condition.

A Ford Explorer Sport was traveling East on N.C. 108, ran off the roadway to the right and down an embankment, according to the N.C. Highway Patrol. The vehicle overturned through a creek and ejected the front seat passenger, who was not wearing a seatbelt, states the report. The report said the driver and another passenger were wearing seatbelts and were uninjured. The passenger ejected was transported to Mission Hospital via helicopter and was listed in critical condition. The report was made after 10 p.m. Thursday with the emergency call on the crash coming in at 6:33 p.m., according to the highway patrol office.

No information was available on the other wreck, but it was reportedly also a one-vehicle crash with occupants transported to area hospitals.
