Overholt named to All-WNC football squad

Polk County senior Dillon Overholt has been named to the All-Western North Carolina football squad as selected by the Asheville Citizen-Times.

Overholt earned a spot on the team as a defensive back. As Polk County’s free safety, he recorded 88 tackles this season, intercepting two passes.

Overholt also started nine games at quarterback for Polk County before shifting to wide receiver. He finished as Polk County’s second-leading rusher with 805 yards and seven touchdowns, passed for 629 yards and 11 touchdowns, caught 13 passes for 229 yards and three touchdowns and also had a punt return for a score.

Wolverine offensive/defensive lineman Devin Panchyshyn earned second-team All-WNC honors while Bryson Seay, Braden Miller, Austin Wilson, Hayden Shumate and Markell Lipscomb were all honorable mention selections.
