Alfred Pace

Alfred Pace, 62, of Landrum, S.C. went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday evening, December 27, 2017 at the Smith Phayer Hospice House, Landrum, S.C.

A lifelong resident of Landrum, S.C., he was the son the late Leonard and Gladys Lockhart Pace.  Mr. Pace retired as a carpenter after his health declined. When he was not working, he enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. Mr. Pace was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Landrum, S.C.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Pace.

Surviving are five sisters, Nina Thompson of Tryon, N.C., Pauline Bell (Harold) of East Flat Rock, N.C., Katie Pcenicni (Mike) of Columbus, N.C., Joyce Pierce of Landrum, S.C. and Alice Parker (Johnny) of Rutherfordton, N.C.; one brother, Jerry Pace (Brenda) of Zirconia, N.C.; one sister-in-law, Betty Pace of Tryon, N.C. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, N.C. with Rev. Lynn Stewart and Dr. Jesse T. Yarbrough officiating.

Burial will follow in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Landrum, S.C.

The family will receive friends prior to the service Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral chapel.

At other times, the family will be at the home of his sister, Nina Thompson, Tryon, N.C.
