Five charged for Bill Collins Rd. storage unit larceny

POLK COUNTY – The Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested five individuals suspected of stealing items from a storage container on Bill Collins Road, including a safe.

Ryan Williams was charged with three counts of breaking and entering, three counts of larceny, three counts of conspiracy and two counts of safecracking, according to sheriff reports.

Nicholas W. Jolley was charged with one count of breaking and entering, one count of larceny, one count of conspiracy and two counts of safecracking, according to sheriff reports.

Josh Cuthbertson was charged with one count of breaking and entering, one count of larceny and one count of conspiracy, according to sheriff reports.

Dreama Philyaw was charged with one count of breaking and entering, one count of larceny and one count of conspiracy, according to sheriff reports.

Sheriff’s office deputies recovered a “Centurion” safe on Hwy. 9 North on Dec. 3 and were notified to collect and process the safe. Numerous attempts were made to locate the owner of the safe over the next couple of days.

A report was made of a suspicious vehicle and a possible larceny from storage containers, located on Bill Collins Road on Dec. 6. The person who made the report was unable to specify if the owners of the containers were missing any items, but told the sheriff’s office the containers were open and they were normally kept locked.

The owners of the storage containers reportedly checked the containers and came to the sheriff’s office to report items missing, including the “Centurion” safe that had been found along Hwy. 9 North.

Detectives went to the scene with the owners to follow up on the missing items and to collect evidence. The storage container owners reported numerous items missing, estimated at a total of over $13,000, according to sheriff reports.

Detectives were able to identify five individuals suspected of breaking into the storage containers.

Capt. B.J. Bayne acknowledged and thanked the Rutherford County Investigation Division, the Forest City Police Department and the Columbus Police Department for their assistance in retrieving the stolen items during the snowstorm on Dec. 8.

Many of the items were still in possession of the individuals accused of the larceny and detectives recovered the property and returned it to the owners.

Ryan Williams, Christy Williams and Nicholas Jolley have been arrested, according to the sheriff’s office.

Ryan Williams was still being held at the Polk County Jail under a $78,000 bond as of Thursday, Dec. 21. Christy Willliams was still being held in the Transylvania County Jail under a $78,000 bond as of Thursday, Dec. 21 and Jolley was released on a $34,000 bond.
