“Deadly Sinners,” written by Tryon local Hilary Giner-Sorolla, is an adventure story set in Medieval times, and was placed in the quarter finals of the 11th Annual Storypros International Screenplay Contest recently. Based in California, the contest is open to writers of all levels and backgrounds, and their objective is to recognize, support and promote writers’ work.

A previous entry, Giner-Sorolla’s short screenplay “The Last Bullet,” about a platoon of German soldiers defending a bunker during the Normandy D-Day invasion, reached the semifinals of the American Gem Literary Festival in 2014.

Annual screenplay contests run by Hollywood companies attract over 1,000 entries each, worldwide.
