Music in Landrum to feature Miles Hoffman

Join Music in Landrum Sunday, Dec. 17 at 3 p.m. at Landrum United Methodist Church, 227 Howard Street. This will be their last free performance featuring Miles Hoffman.
Miles Hoffman is the founder and violist of the American Chamber Players, with whom he regularly tours the United States, and artistic director of the Peace Chamber program at the Peace Center in Greenville, S.C.
He appears frequently as viola soloist with orchestras across the country, and his performances on YouTube have received nearly a half million views. Mr. Hoffman’s radio modules, A Minute with Miles, are a daily feature of South Carolina Public Radio, other networks around the country, and NPR Podcasts, and he is the host for the national radio broadcasts of Chamber Music from Spoleto Festival USA. His musical commentary, “Coming to Terms,”was a weekly favorite throughout the United States from 1989 to 2002 on NPR’s Performance Today, and as music commentator for NPR’s flagship news program, Morning Edition, he is still regularly heard by a national audience of nearly 14 million people. His book, The NPR Classical Music Companion: An Essential Guide for Enlightened Listening, is in its tenth printing from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Mr.Hoffman is a graduate of Yale University and the Juilliard School.
