Jennie Arledge Adams, of Saluda, passed away early Friday morning, November 24, 2017 at the age of 84. She was born May 14, 1933 to the late John Spurgeon and Leila Denton Arledge.

Jennie was a lifelong resident of Saluda and lifelong member of Saluda First Baptist Church.  She was very active in both her community and church. She enjoyed voracious reading, storytelling of the past, was quite an accomplished painter and a faithful follower of Christ.

Jennie’s career spanned 30 years as Office Manager for Pisgah Associates of Pathology, and all those that she worked with held a very dear & special place in her heart.

Ralph was the love of her life and her children, Kendal & Lisa, were her life’s work. But as Jennie would say, “my granddaughter Sarah is my finest accomplishment and perfect in every way!”

Known and loved for her zesty personality and loving loyalty to family and friends she will always be remembered with a laugh and a smile, accompanied by a good story!

She is survived by her daughter Lisa Adams Roach and husband Dan of Charlotte NC, and granddaughter Sarah P. Roach of Washington DC. She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Ralph E. Adams and by her son R. Kendal Adams.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the staff at Carolina Village, Dr. Eric Byrd and especially Ms. Connie Blackwell for their loving care so selflessly given.

Private family Interment will be at Saluda City Cemetery, Monday December 4th at 1pm.

Service for Jennie will be held on Monday, December 4th, 2:00pm, at Saluda First Baptist Church.
