TubaChristmas – Conductor and Soloist

The conductor this year will be Dr. Douglas Black, Jr. He is the Tuba and Euphonium Faculty at Winthrop University and the University of South Carolina where he teaches applied tuba and euphonium, directs the Winthrop University Euphonium Choir, coaches brass chamber music and teaches music education courses. Doug is also a freelance musician and teacher in North and South Carolina. He has performed with symphony orchestras in Illinois, Alabama, and Canada, as well as here in the Carolinas.

The soloist for “O Holy Night” this year is Mr. Kenneth Mace, a resident of Hendersonville. Originally from Lincolnton, he received a Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of Miami and a Masters Degree from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro.

TubaChristmas, Saturday, Dec. 2, 1:30 p.m. at Polk County High School. Come to listen to the brass instruments and to lend your voice to the singing of several carols.
