Waddell named WHC’s top player; Hill earns coach of the year honors

Polk County senior Reagan Waddell has been named the Western Highlands Conference Volleyball Player of the Year, leading six Wolverines on the league’s all-conference squad.

Wolverine head coach Molly Hill earned coach of the year honors for the third time in her four seasons at Polk County after leading the Wolverines to a 23-4 record and appearance in the state 1A semifinals.

Waddell finished the season with 369 kills, 433 digs and 49 service aces, capping a career in which she surpassed both 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs. She ranked second among state 1A players in kills and fifth in digs, according to MaxPreps data.

Joining Waddell on the all-WHC team were seniors Kendall Hall and Lauren Ketwitz, juniors Grace Lauer and Ansley Lynch and sophomore Mireya Roman.
