Hikers fall 15-20 ft. at Little Bradley Falls

One treated for broken leg and hypothermia
SALUDA-An incident on Saturday, Nov. 25 ended in injuries after two hikers fell from Little Bradley Falls in Saluda.
One man in his 40s reportedly fell about 15-20 ft. and another man tried to catch him and also fell.
The man in his 40s was flown to Mission Memorial in Asheville and was treated for a broken leg and hypothermia, according to reports. He fell into the water below and had to be rescued by emergency crews out of Polk County.
The incident occurred between 3:30-4 p.m. Saturday with Polk County dispatch receiving the call at 4 p.m.
Holbert Cove Road was closed for some time during the rescue Saturday but was later reopened.
There have been many people who have died falling from nearby Big Bradley Falls over the last several years. The state has placed signs in the area warning hikers of the dangers and of the many deaths from people falling up to 150 feet from the top of the falls.
