Potter visits Inman Elementary School

During the week of Nov. 13, all third grade students at Inman Elementary School were inspired by having a visiting professional potter, Tyson Graham, visit as he taught techniques ranging from pinch pots to slab and coil construction. The students used these clay techniques to create a menagerie of sculpted animals such as birds, turtles, rabbits and fish. The artist-in-residency was made possible by the Tryon Fine Arts Center Be Inspired Grant. Students and their parents were inspired by Graham, as he told his personal and professional stories, and demonstrated lessons on various hand-built clay techniques at Art Night, held on Thursday, Nov. 16. Graham made such a lasting impression on so many children for years to come! (Submitted by Kelly Buster)
