Polk County has a new receiver for our recycled materials. Consequently, there will now be a new system as follows:

Glass containers will now be collected separately. They will have their own bin.

Aluminum cans will also be collected separately in their own bin.

All other cans will be mixed with the plastic containers numbered 1-7 in a triangle on the bottom of the container.

Corrugated cardboard will be collected in a bin as before. Mixed paper will also be collected as previously done.

As has been the case before only plastic containers, not other kinds of plastic such as bags, coat hangers, toys, bubble wrap, etc., will be recyclable. Other types of metal such as tin foil, scrap metal, coat hangers, etc. will not be recyclable.

This new system will commence on Nov. 20 at Harmon Field and will continue until further notice.
