2017 Biennial Sculpture Exhibit honors regional sculptors at TFAC

Top entrants for the 2017 Biennial Sculpture Exhibit & Sale at Tryon Fine Arts Center were announced at the opening reception in TFAC’s Gallery I on Sunday, Oct. 15. North Carolina-based sculptor Austin Sheppard took first place for his sculpture “Indigo” and N.C.-based artist Staton Davis received second place for his work “Disjecta Membra.” Third place went to Atlanta, Ga. sculptor Jane Jaskevich for her work “Reverie.” Juror Adam Adcock selected the winners from the nearly two dozen sculptors who participated in this year’s show. The exhibition of indoor and outdoor work in a variety of mediums is on display at TFAC through Nov. 25. Gallery I is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. There is no charge to tour the exhibit.
