Tryon Little Theater’s “Outside Mullingar” opens tonight at the TLT Workshop, 516 S. Trade St. in Tryon. An award-winning play by John Patrick Shanley, it’s been described as Shanley’s most loving and most beautiful work to date.
“It’s an unusual, quirky love story, with a hint of the magical,” says director Catherine Gillet. “There are family rivalries, a bitter land feud, and lovelorn farmers who haven’t got a clue when it comes to love— and it’s performed with that subtle ‘twinkle in the eye’ Irish humor.”
For the duration of the play, TLT’s lobby has been transformed into an Irish pub, with live music and Guinness! Tickets are available at www.tltinfo.org, or by calling 828-859-2466. You can also drop by the box office at the Workshop, open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
If you have tickets for opening night tonight, please join us at 7 p.m. before the 8 p.m. show to enjoy some very Irish hospitality—courtesy of the wonderful McGourty’s Pub. Sláinte!
