Helen Blythe Arledge, 86, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017 at Spartanburg Restorative Care in Spartanburg, S.C.

Helen was the daughter of the late James and Nellie Jones Blythe. She worked for many years at St. Luke’s Hospital in Columbus, N.C. as Central Supply Supervisor. Helen loved her grandchildren dearly, and enjoyed attending their school and sporting events. She also enjoyed music and reading. Helen was a faithful member of Silver Creek Baptist Church.

Helen was preceded in death by a sister, Eva Blythe; two brothers, Ray Blythe and Brownie Blythe; and a son-in-law, Rick Howell in 2009.

Surviving is her husband of 63 years, Beauford Arledge; one daughter, Susan Howell of Tryon, N.C.; one son, Roger Arledge (Joyce) of Travelers Rest, S.C.; four grandsons, Jeffrey Howell (Myra), Josh Howell (Amberly), Daniel Arledge (Shay), and David Arledge (Kami); and three great grandchildren, Brady Howell, Jaxon Howell, and Caroline Howell. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law, Mary Blythe and Lani Blythe.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017 in Silver Creek Baptist Church, Mill Spring, N.C. with Rev. Rob Hefner and Dr. Chris Osborn officiating.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 – 1:45 p.m.

Burial will follow in Silver Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
