Polk arrests two in Sunny View on drug charges

SUNNY VIEW-The Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man and a woman recently and charged them with drug possession.

The man was charged with the sale of marijuana and methamphetamine and the woman was charged with possession of marijuana and other charges, according to the sheriff’s office.

Daniel Badger Franklin, 49, of 109 Sunny Hill Lane, was arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine and possession with the intent to sell or deliver marijuana, according to sheriff reports.

Tiffany Jackson Cavender, 28, of 109 Sunny Hill Lane, was charged with possession of marijuana, resisting an officer, communicating threats and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the sheriff’s office.

Following a lengthy investigation, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office PACE (Polk Aggressive Criminal Enforcement) Team, along with other Polk County Sheriff’s Office units served a search warrant at the home. The sheriff’s office said the residence had been the focus of an investigation involving the sale of marijuana and methamphetamine. Officers said the search of the residence netted a significant quantity of methamphetamine, marijuana and paraphernalia.

Franklin was arrested on Oct. 23 following the search and Cavender was arrested on Oct. 25.

Franklin was still being held at the Polk County Jail under a $75,000 secured bond as of late last week. Cavender was released on bond.
