SLIP offers presentation at Saluda Fire Department on Nov. 16

Saluda Living in Place (SLIP), an organization dedicated to helping seniors stay in their own homes as they age, is bringing Dr. JoAnne Helppie, a geriatrician and internal medicine physician of Hendersonville to the Saluda Fire Department on Greenville Street on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017.  Coffee and registration begins at 9:45 a.m.

Dr. Helppie, the only board certified geriatrician in the area, will present “A Potpourri of Geriatric Medical Information” at 10 a.m.  Her presentation is aimed at senior citizens who want to take charge of their future by eating well, exercising, being mentally challenged and being able to stay in their homes as long as possible. Learn specific steps you can take to improve your own health or better assist a friend or loved one to do so.

Dr. Helppie is the founder and chairman of Aging Projects Inc., begun in 2010. It is specially designed to help seniors, caregivers, providers and community organizations find the resources to help seniors age in place. She is excited that Saluda is participating in such an important endeavor.
