Tryon Painters & Sculptors is excited to announce a six-week figure drawing session that begins Monday, Oct. 23 and runs through Nov. 27. The group meets on Mondays from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the TP&S drawing studio at 78 N. Trade St. in Tryon.
Pat Cole-Ferullo will be the instructor for the first three weeks of the session. The focus of the group will be life drawing and there will be a live model. In the first sessions students will be working with a draped model. Artists at all levels including beginners are invited to attend. We are a very welcomingly group and are seeking new members who enjoy the challenge of drawing a live model. There is a charge for the six-class session.
Cole-Ferullo is excited about teaching life drawing to our group. She taught for many years with Jeanne Parker at the Tryon Fine Arts Center. She began studying art in high school, which led to a BA in fine art and commercial art from Florida State University.
After graduation, she studied at the Instituto de Allende in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, while maintaining her studio in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. where she held classes and workshops, and taught painting at the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art and in adult education. She has won many awards and has paintings in collections around the world. From 2006 until 2008 Cole-Ferullo was fortunate to live in Italy.
In 2008 she returned to Tryon where she maintains her studio, paints, and teaches classes in expressive watermedia, drawing, and exploring the inner artist.
