During the Oct. 10 Landrum City council meeting, Mayor Robert Briggs presented Young Marine Jonathan Timblin with a plaque declaring Oct. 23-31 as National Red Ribbon Week. Timblin will be participating in the efforts of the Young Marines to reduce the demand for illicit drugs through awareness and education.
