Representative Cody Henson, a former Marine, left, at the Veterans Memorial in Columbus on Saturday, Sept. 30 to honor Derkach’s passing the 54-hour Marine Crucible on Saturday morning. Derkach’s grandfather, retired Major General Jack A. Davis, right, brought the flag he will present to Derkach when he returns home from boot camp.
